“Bjørn to be Wild”Shirt Design for Sale
Some guys were just bjørn to be wild… and this Viking bear is no exception! Capped with his traditional horned helm, he clutches a triskelion (a slightly anachronistic symbol of growth, power, and progress in this case) to his chest as he roars into battle.
Available in a variety of shirt colors and sizes.

Who Does What? Collaborations.

Somewhat recently, we had someone ask us, “So in what way do you guys actually collaborate? Who does what?”

And the answer isn’t really concrete, but the answer I’m comfortable saying is: We both contribute to all parts of the creative process in some way usually; from brainstorming, sketching, creating the art, preproduction, to production.

The amount at which each of us contribute to any one step of the process may vary on the project, but I like to think there’s usually a nice even distribution of creativity and effort.

I’ve always said that I’m an illustrator going into graphic design, and Chris is a graphic designer going into illustration… so we end up meeting up in the middle often times.

As primarily an illustrator, I may have a little bigger hand in art, but Chris will often dabble and get  his hands dirty in actually creating the art too, despite his humble nature to tell you that he didn’t.

Just like how I’ll humbly say that I didn’t really help with any of the design or typography or production or anything else where I’m more than  just “somebody who doodles”… he might say that I actually helped with something beyond my part.

We also love teaching each other too.

So it’s a very healthy mutual, hand-in-hand creative relationship.

Here’s our first Tandem-Badge, of Baxter and Hoshi. Both doing their video game thing. Their contrasting expressions aside, the two badges still fit together like puzzle pieces.
These were a lot of fun, and there may be more tandum badges in the future!

So here is a Tanuki. Tanukis, through Japanese culture, are known to have large testicles, so we made sure to keep it traditional.
The commissioner of this badge wanted to be able to wear it at public events…
So Chris had the idea to get little magnets… and have an attachable leaf to cover up the Tanuki when the time comes!
The magnets also open up future possibilities!
I think we’re both really happy with how this turned out.

This is Hux, for Qlutch.
Chris had the idea of giving him that dramatic anime jump with beams in the background, I sketched it, and Chris inked it and produced it (and did a freakin great job with it all).
He also set up a little photography studio for snapping good shots, so he also took the photo all fancy like.
It was a lot of fun, and a cute character to work with. It’s really great when we get to work with a theme we can really explore on.
Like all of the stuff we made, we’re really proud of this one. :)

Badge commission for Xiongmao and his foo dog character, laying with his tamari ball.
We tried a new technique for the first time on this badge. We actually laser cut a hole from the base acrylic, then laser cut the same shape from a different acrylic, then slipped it into the hole in the base piece, like a puzzle piece, and applied some special cyanoacrylate glue to keep it sturdy in there.
The base acrylic is fluorescent orange and the little acrylic circle piece for the ball, is Unicorn acrylic.
The amount of effort to break the glue would be about the effort you’d need to break the entire badge.
Now that we’re confident that it works, we can apply this technique to future projects. We think it really turned out great!

Flipsta. He’s a lombax (a species from Insomniac’s Ratchet and Clank universe). He’s on fluorescent blue acrlyic, gear shaped. For context, lombax’s are natural mechanics. We’re really happy with this one, so hope others enjoy it too. :)

The fluorescent blue stuff glows a TON under blacklight!

This is a badge for Ghimno.
He’s a raccoon who we’ve implemented in a fighting-video-game theme with his weapon of choice being the bow and arrow.
Health bar and power bar included.
We’re really happy with this one.
