Badge commission for Xiongmao and his foo dog character, laying with his tamari ball.
We tried a new technique for the first time on this badge. We actually laser cut a hole from the base acrylic, then laser cut the same shape from a different acrylic, then slipped it into the hole in the base piece, like a puzzle piece, and applied some special cyanoacrylate glue to keep it sturdy in there.
The base acrylic is fluorescent orange and the little acrylic circle piece for the ball, is Unicorn acrylic.
The amount of effort to break the glue would be about the effort you’d need to break the entire badge.
Now that we’re confident that it works, we can apply this technique to future projects. We think it really turned out great!
